Longtan Park

I have now been to this dragon park 4 times.  The first my 2nd trip to China years ago for Chinese New Year, this year during Chinese New Year, and twice in the past week.  Obviously it looks totally different in the spring not covered with snow.  But we took the kids on one of the holiday days.  It wasn't busy at all.  We saw a scuffle outside of some people arguing then fighting over the purchase of a balloon from a street vendor.  Ended up involving the police, I quickly shooed the children into the park.  We were meeting Gu nainai and Gu yeye before lunch.  We Litterly sat at the entrance till they could be found then sat in 1 spot for another hour.  This time not by the lake, but under the shade next to a big blow up pool with a dozen child sized paddle boats.
Of course we can't sit there for an hour and not let the kids ride, that would be torture.  So we pay the 20rmb for 15 minutes per kids and give our tickets to the guy in the vest and wait for 3 boats.  Luckily some kids times are all up in a row.    They had a ball.
Three days later I returned by myself to explore the rest of the park.  It was snowing cottonwood rather thickly.  I didn't really think I'm allergic to it, but I was stuffed up.  I refused to buy the icecream cone at 12rmb from the vendor, since it's always 6 or less elsewhere.  I found it later for 5 rmb, so ha!  I thought it was macha and chocolate.  Nope.  Macha and red bean sprinkled with dehydrated strawberry bits.  I won't be having that again!
