Last day of the 3 day holiday, my in-laws decide we should go to Beihai. Mind you the boys have been there, on an overcast cold and windy day. Totally different experience. It was hot, crowded is an understatement. My in-laws took the kids in with them and their old people get in free cards. While I braved the "line" is putting it loosely. It was a mass of people pushing and shoving to get to the front to get tickets, yelling and shouting over each other.
Once in we were led by the in-laws to seats here and there to nibble on food along the way. We walked on to the island and took a boat back to the other side. Took a gander at the 9 dragon screen and departed.
It was nice to see the Peonies blooming. I've got to see some of my favorite spring flowers while here in China, that makes me feel good. Since It's been so hot, me and the boys are wearing shorts and short sleeves while everyone else is simmering in their sweaters and double layers. We were the reason of 3 kids to be lightened of one layer at least. Their pointing at us and immediately taking off a sweater was a dead give away!
