Yeah I got to sleep in to 8 ish! Donuts picked up the night before, provided an easy breakfast paired with yogurt and fruit. Didn't get out until lunch time. McDonald's did all the work. Here they normally don't take up their own trash, they have cleaners just waiting to pick up and "clean" the table.
One of the two elevators has been out of service for 3 days now, so it takes a lot longer to get up and down from our floor. We came back, grabbed our sand toys and headed to the park. Forgot the water cups luckily we were still inside the lobby.
Today was in the high 80's with no breeze. This is a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because there is no dust blowing around and a curse because it's hot. Yesterday it was at least 93 with a big breeze. Way too much dust blowing around, only kids were out playing(us included).
After about 15 minutes one of the kids needs to go the bathroom. The kind I'm not comfortable with leaving it on the ground. (Though I've seen poop almost on top of flowers, as people hold their kids over the flowers for them to use as their personal toilet.) We pick up and head back.
We return. Another 15 minutes there and another kid needs to do the same. Really I do tell them to go every time, just in case. They think it's fun to go pee or poo everywhere. "They do it." I don't care, it's gross. So I always point out the poop of 2 and 4 legged animals anywhere you can walk. Why they can't think, lets do this off to the side where people won't step, I have no clue.
Why can't I spit, they do it? Because it's gross and you can get beaten(remember Singapore) in some countries for it. Why can't I throw my garbage on the ground, they do it? Because most countries fine you for being a litter bug. Why do I have to cover my mouth, they don't? Because, that's why you get sick, they don't cover their mouth.
Now it's time to head out for dinner. My loving husband gave me money to take us all out for dinner. I suggest the rotating buffet in the TV tower. That's too far away. They find a sea food(the only safe meat) buffet and find 1/2 price tickets on-line. Regular 160rmb, so now 80rmb~$13.50. We get their early because they think there is someplace to walk around(their equivalent of play for the kids), we walk from the bus stop 2 blocks to the hotel lobby, now we try and entertain the kids for 45 minutes by going to the bathroom twice, going up and down stairs, outside to see the fountain, see the fountain in the lobby....
Finally it is time to eat. Cool decor, painted murals on walls, painted foliage coming from the recess lighting. There was 1 dish each for chicken, pork, beef and lamb. The seafood consisted of shell on cocktail shrimp(at least decent size), still half-frozen salmon they sliced to be sashimi, 3 mussel dishes, and stewed fish. Drinks consisted of Coke, Sprite, and Fanta Orange, several cans at a time brought out and put in a big bowl filled with cold water, set next to two trays of drink glasses. So the kids had a sugar high before we even began deserts. The deserts were okay, they brought out the better desserts after most of the people were leaving. There was a carrot peanut cake, a walnut torte, Black Forest cake and short cream horns rolled in crushed peanuts, these were better than their cakes of the same base with a bit of green tea or chocolate to change the color.
They did have some fancier vegetables, fancy mini salad bar and marinated vegetables. Mostly overpriced vegetables and fruit. I'd have been super mad if we had paid full price for this. I've spent more on a cake viking in Japan before.
We enjoyed the bus ride home, watching for the colored lights and lit up fountains.
