Sunday was about 45 out. Warm and sunny, I asked to please take up somewhere. We road the bus and subway to Tiananmen Square exit, I'm glad we got there early, the line wasn't long yet to walk the sidewalk in front of the Forbidden City. We were going to the park to the left of the palace. My in-laws let the kids be more themselves. They were okay with them being kids(loud) and running around. We had cup-o-ramen at a snack shop and went to the kid park. Which is an indoor play scape, think McDonalds, but bigger. 20 rmb for kids, 10 rmd for adults. My in-laws thought I should go in to keep an eye on them. There were 2 other moms crawling around. Often these grocery bags on wheels double as a stroller. This is the first time he tried it.
As were were walking around, I wondered why all the people where in this plaza staring at the ground. I thought some type of presentation, drawings or paintings. No. Parents with poster boards giving the stats to their single children, hoping to find a match. As far as I know this is for matchmaking not arranged marriages.
