When dealing with a bloody nose, there seems to be some different thoughts on why you have it and how to handle it from the east to the west.
The culprits: When I first see a bloody nose, I(the West) ask did you get hit in the nose? If not, did the kid pick their nose, is the house too dry(winter), or is it too hot(summer w/o a/c). The East's first thought is you are eating too much sugar, too much chocolate or your head is hot(lets cut off your hair).
Once you have the bloody nose, what are you to do? I(the West) put neosporin or petroleum jelly on a rolled up kleenex up the nose, pinch the nose and may put a cold towel on the back of the neck. In the East you pinch the thumb, squeezing from both sides of the thumb nail on both hands 10 seconds each, put a cold towel on the top of your forehead and rub white wine on the upper body to release the heat from the body.
